Essential Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Specialist registration (AHPRA) in Emergency Medicine
- Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent
- Eligibility for employment as a Staff Specialist in Australia
- Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable)
This Emergency Department is a key referral centre, providing comprehensive care across a broad and diverse patient population.

- 43-bed Emergency Department with approximately 45,000 presentations annually
- Major referral centre with no bypass—high acuity and diverse caseload
- Case mix includes trauma, paediatrics, mental health, and complex medical presentations
- Strong inpatient support, including 24-hour cardiac catheterisation lab and ICU with ECMO capability
- Accredited training site with 24 months of registrar training (including advanced training opportunities)
