Essential Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Specialist registration (AHPRA) in Emergency Medicine
  • Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent
  • Eligibility for employment as a Staff Specialist in Australia
  • Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable)
Service Overview
This Emergency Department is a key referral centre, providing comprehensive care across a broad and diverse patient population.
Key features include:
  • 43-bed Emergency Department with approximately 45,000 presentations annually
  • Major referral centre with no bypass—high acuity and diverse caseload
  • Case mix includes trauma, paediatrics, mental health, and complex medical presentations
  • Strong inpatient support, including 24-hour cardiac catheterisation lab and ICU with ECMO capability
  • Accredited training site with 24 months of registrar training (including advanced training opportunities)
