The Position
 We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner – Visiting Medical Officer (GP VMO) to join a welcoming rural community in Western NSW. This role offers a unique balance of general practice and hospital-based responsibilities, with the flexibility of FIFO or ongoing arrangements.
The package includes:
  • $2,000 on-call rate for hospital coverage
  • Additional percentage of billings from GP consults
  • Accommodation and vehicle provided

 This role is based in a peaceful outback town in Western NSW, known for its rich history, strong community values, and tranquil lifestyle. Essential Criteria
 To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
  • Fellowship with FRACGP or FACRRM
  • Current ALS2 (or equivalent) certification, with recent emergency medicine experience (within the last 6 months)
  • Strong all-round clinical skills and the ability to practice autonomously
  • A genuine passion for rural medicine and commitment to delivering comprehensive care in small communities
Service Overview
 The health service operates a medical centre Monday to Friday (9am–4:30pm) alongside a hospital facility that includes:
  • 24/7 on-call roster 
  • 3 Emergency Department beds
  • 8 acute care beds
  • 12-bed aged care facility
  • Renal dialysis ward
Patient presentations are generally low, and support is provided by an experienced nurse and a dedicated practice manager. Emergency presentations are limited to Category 1–2 overnight (6pm–8am) and Category 1–5 during the day (8am–6pm), ensuring manageable workloads.
