We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Anaesthetist to join a regional surgical and critical care team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective anaesthetic services in a well-supported and collaborative rural hospital setting.
You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive anaesthetic care across a broad range of elective and emergency surgical procedures. Participation in perioperative clinics, on-call duties, and trauma response support within the Emergency Department are key components of the role.

Essential Criteria
- Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA), or equivalent specialist qualifications
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated experience in delivering anaesthesia across a range of surgical specialties
- Ability to participate in a 1:4 on-call roster
- Experience or willingness to work in a rural or regional hospital setting
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication, clinical decision-making, and leadership skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development and high-quality patient care

Service Overview
This is a regional health service supporting four operating theatres and offering a diverse elective and emergency surgical caseload, including:
- Orthopaedics – Hip and knee replacements, general orthopaedic procedures
- General Surgery – Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, bowel cancer resections, hernia repairs, skin lesion excisions, gastroenterology, and emergency cases
- Dental Surgery – Paediatric and adult patients
- Urology
- Obstetrics & Gynaecology – Including anaesthetic support for labour epidurals
The position includes participation in a shared perioperative outpatient consultation roster and a 1:4 on-call roster. Anaesthetists may also be called to the Emergency Department to assist with trauma management and airway support.
